So, I don’t have any photos for this post really because obviously, I don’t take pictures on actual dates. However, I thought I would tell you about one of my favourite dates James and I have had recently.

One day, James said we should have a book date for our next date, so we picked a day and that’s exactly what we did. We decided not to take Millie with us and just have some time together, but the places we went are both Dog-Friendly.

On our chosen day, we left Millie at home, much to her disapproval, and headed into the City Centre. The only non-dog-friendly place we went to was Primark, but it was a super quick visit. Then we headed to the first place on our book date location, Waterstones.

I love to just wander around Waterstones and see what is available. On this day, however, we both picked out a book. We spent about 45 mins just slowly looking and reading book blurbs until we found the ones we like. James picked “Skandar and the Unicorn Thief” by J.F Steadman, which he had seen on a previous Waterstones wander. The book I picked, was one that James saw and thought I would like which was “The Sin Eater” by Megan Campisi, we paid for our books and headed to location number 2.

Now, if you have ever been in a Waterstones you will know that a lot of them have Costa’s attached. Dundee has a little Costa and seating area up the stairs however, we always go to Caffe Nero. It’s where we always go for a cuppie while we are out and it’s dog-friendly. It’s a lovely little building and always peaceful. We ordered a pot of tea each and a cake to share, then sat down to have a chat. After chatting we settled into reading our books. The deal was that we would each read the first chapter only, and then tell each other about our books.

The whole date lasted, maybe two hours but it was a really nice way to spend a short afternoon. It was such a sweet idea and we did something different but still something we both enjoy. Millie gave us into trouble in her usual vocal way when we got home but it was totally worth it.

What is your favourite date idea?

Love Always

Debbi xx
