What I Liked about “The Garden of Forgotten Wishes”

I liked the setting of the book, the historical house in a quaint little village. I also liked the drama of meeting her mums family and finding out why she didn’t want her to go there. Although I feel her mum could have told her why, then she may have never gone as promised. The relationship between Marnie and Ned was also really sweet and did feel very natural and I was definitely rooting (see what I did there?) for them. I really like the style of writing that Trisha Ashley has. Although it’s not a diary, the way it was written felt a little like reading one. Despite the trigger warnings, it is a light-hearted Spring/Summer read.

What I didn’t like about “The Garden of Forgotten Wishes”

In all honesty, the only thing I didn’t like was how quick the ending was. I kept expecting her ex to show up or something to happen with Neds issues and the longer it took, the more I thought it wasn’t going to happen but everything happened in the last 20 pages or so which made it feel a little rushed. However, with how easy a read it was, it didn’t bother me that much.

Overall Thoughts on “The Garden of Forgotten Wishes”

Overall I gave “The Garden of Forgotten Wishes” 3 Stars. It was an easy spring/summertime read without too much ridiculousness. It had a strong female main character finding her feet after a terrible relationship. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a lazy read. Goes well with garden time and white wine!
